This is an issue of equality. Disabled people deserve the same access to community spaces others have. There is only one taxi on the island that is equipped to do this and ideally, there should be more.
We are taking this idea and including it in a disability action plan. We are looking for more ideas like this to include in the action to allow disabled people to have better access to the island.
This is an issue requiring us to take more care of our green and blue spaces. We have many public spaces that need better protection from private developments, keeping this land free and open for the people.
We are looking for more ways we can do this outside of our preexisting plans.
This is an issue that touches on many of our commitments. We want to make sure that Citizens of Sheppey are as physically and mentally healthy as possible. We will be putting health at the front with many of the projects we do, however, we will always look at ways outside of existing and planned projects for ways we can help.
What we need to make this happen is advice from professionals to contribute to our Wellbeing Wednesday Social Project.
With the governments plans to induce mandatory ID in order to vote, people need to know more about how politics in the UK works. We want to create resources and plan a number of events that will better help people engage with their democracy.
The international island games is a meet up of all Island communities around the world. We believe Sheppey should be a part of this.
Sheerness is a place that suffers extreme cross-cutting deprivation and we must do more to protect our community and its members.
Too often members of our community are left behind due to the fact they don't fit into what we perceive as being "normal". We want to help create plans for local councils to follow to make sure that those that politics can all too often ignore are listened too, and provided for.
